Description

Job Summary: The Cisco Infrastructure Engineer is capable of independently working primarily in a project-based role and is responsible for developing specific solutions and network configurations in support of designs from the architecture roles. They are responsible for insuring the complete and timely implementation of new solutions as well as major changes to existing solutions utilizing assigned internal and contracted resources or performing work themselves. They are required to effectively communicate and work with other engineering groups to complete environmental changes as well as operational groups to transition projects from the implementation to operational phases. Responsibilities: Act as third level escalation for operational issues Stay current on emerging technologies Display good time management Display strong documentation skills Develop configurations for a range of network equipment to meet requirements of architectural designs Make complex changes to existing configuration to address operational issues Perform complex troubleshooting of existing systems Develop Configuration Standards and Standard Operating Procedures Demonstrate advanced logical problem-solving skills Make business aware of decisions about priorities Develop tools for network automation and administration Experience and Knowledge: Degree in IT or related field 5+ years of experience in a network position Strong knowledge of Cisco ACI is required Experience with implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting a range of network equipment Experience as a technical project resource Experience with Visio or other technical drawing solution Advanced knowledge of networking and networking concepts is required, including: VXLAN/EVPN SSL/IPSec VPN Complex routing strategies Multiple Dynamic Routing protocols Internal vs External routing protocols Redistribution Software defined network design Fabric design Overlay/Underlay Cloud networking services Network vs Application-Level Security Dedicated remote cloud connectivity Cryptography PKI/Certificate Management Key Exchange Security Encryption Whitehat vs Blackhat/Red Team-Blue Team Attack vectors Risk vs Vulnerabilities/Mitigation DDOS Knowledge of application-level concepts is preferred, such as: APIs Databases/Data Access strategies Scripting/Development Python Go Sh/Bash/Csh
