Mavensoft is looking for a Sr Network Engineer - CISCO, Ansible for our direct client in Portland, OR for a One-year contract position with a competitive pay rate. Job Title: Sr Network Engineer - CISCO, Ansible Duration : One Year Pay rate : $60-$65 /hr on W2 plus benefits Location: Portland, OR Key Skills : Cisco Networks, Cisco ACI, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, Switching Potocols, Performance Analysis, System Tuning, System Security, Network Automation, Ansible/Python. Job Description : This position will function in a senior level network engineer capacity, as well as be responsible for the management and support of the client's network projects, and network vendors. This position will influence technical decision and direction on an enterprise level as well as work on a range network technology. This candidate will need to have a strong level of operational business and customer services skills. This position will perform design and complex hands-on network technical activities required for the implementation, support, and troubleshooting of CLIENT network infrastructure. Technologies supported include Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and ACI platforms, Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 load balancers, and Ansible automation. . This position will also support CLIENT's Senior Solution Architect and CLIENT's network integrator. The Network Administrator is a key contributor in the design, implementation, and support of CLIENT's Network Projects. Job Responsibilities: Performs the following functions with little supervision, engaging supervisor when needed to provide recommendations and escalate problems. Design, implement and automate CLIENT's network infrastructure. Accept assignments and new responsibilities from Project Manager, Solution Architect and Manager. Provide high quality technical knowledge and consulting services to internal clients. Analyze system performance to identify deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Work with team to identify solutions to maximize system up-time and to provide timely response to problems. Makes recommendations for new or changes to existing processes for maintaining and supporting network systems Contributes to improving Service Strategy by making recommendations for required future operational capabilities and technologies Create documentation to support transition of network project to network operations. Contributes or owns the investigation, diagnosis and resolution of network project challenges that inhibits the progress of the project. Ensures that all requests for support are dealt with according to set standards and procedures. Provide technical leadership and support to vendors to ensure operational support and project success. Experience and Skills Requirements: Strong interpersonal customer and communications skills; capable of writing operational and project documentation, act as a vendor liaison to drive project initiatives. A senior network engineer level of experience (7 or more years of previous system design and deployment experience). A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in a related discipline. Ability to support or lead complex network projects involving multiple IT disciplines. Strong understanding of Cisco Networks including Cisco ACI, Routing with OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS , switching protocols, performance analysis, system tuning, and system security. Experience automating common network tasks with Ansible or Python. Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve complex problems. Documented training or professional certifications. Miscellaneous Requirements: This position will be required to occasionally work after business hours or on the weekend during planned project go-lives. This is a WFH position, but selected candidate will need to go to client location in Portland downtown periodically. Local candidates only
